Building on its journey, BATAO leaves its host structures to stand on its own two feet, in Senegal as in Belgium.
During its early years, BATAO grew under the wing of two houses: the Centre Yennenga in Dakar and Wallimage in Mons. This support made it possible to lay the foundations, structure the offer and build trust with the sector.
Building on this success, BATAO becomes independent. In Senegal, it becomes an autonomous entity. In Belgium, it sets itself up as a non-profit association: BATAO ASBL.
The association, whose registered office is in Namur (BCE 1039.109.233), has put in place full governance: a board of directors, a general assembly and a partners' committee that brings together the stakeholders from both countries. The details can be found on the Governance page.
This independence opens a new chapter: remaining an autonomous entity, promoting Senegal as a filming destination, opening up to other territories, multiplying French-language coproduction meetings and developing training.
